Seeds of Kati was born from a simple but powerful vision rooted deeply in the heart of its founder, Oumar Traore. Born and raised in Mali, Oumar carried within him a lasting desire to uplift and empower his community. Like many ambitious young Malians, he sought education abroad, believing knowledge and skills acquired overseas would one day help build a brighter future back home.

However, in 2020, Mali faced a significant political crisis, plunging the nation into instability, economic challenges, and diminishing opportunities for countless families. Watching these hardships from afar, Oumar felt a profound responsibility to act—to give back and help rebuild the community that had shaped him.

Driven by this commitment, Oumar founded Seeds of Kati, transforming a heartfelt idea into a vibrant movement. Today, Seeds of Kati passionately dedicates itself to empowering communities in Mali through education, sustainable agriculture, and economic empowerment. More than an organization, Seeds of Kati symbolizes hope, resilience, and the promise of a brighter, sustainable future for all Malians.
